Off to hunt for Lovecraft and other useful things at the library sale/do research for a presentation I’m giving tomorrow morning which I’m totally not ready for even though I spent all day researching and reading and trying to think useful thoughts.At least I have John Julius Norwich’s Venice to help me through the drier parts of history-writing about Renaissance Venice…which really shouldn’t be a dry era at all, but somehow some 40s-80s writers manage to beat it to death with overwordliness.
